Meet the Team

My name is Paul Martinson, and I’m the owner and operator of PJM Auto Repair. Honesty, integrity, loyalty, and hard work are the values that guide everything I do. I’m also a family man with a wonderful wife and three amazing children—now thriving adults—who continue to inspire me every day.

I understand the hard work it takes to raise a family and the challenges faced by people in our community. That’s why supporting local families and youth through donations and involvement has always been important to me. PJM Auto Repair began in 2008 in my garage in Toledo. Over the years it grew steadily, eventually bringing us here to South Beach. It’s been a wild ride, but an incredibly fulfilling one. We’ve worked hard and played hard to build this business into what it is today.

Raising my children and being part of this community has been the most rewarding journey I could have imagined. None of it would have been possible without my wife, Jamie—you’ll never meet a better wife, mother, or partner.

I’m grateful to be part of the Newport community and genuinely care about the people who live here. I love being a mechanic, but even more than that, I love serving people with passion and dedication. Whether it’s early mornings, late nights, or long weekends, I’m committed to doing my best to keep your vehicles running safely and reliably.

Johnathon is the oldest of three boys to Anna and Mike DeMott. Johnathon was born in Missoula Montana and from a young age enjoyed learning how things work and operate. There are many childhood pictures of Johnathon with various objects being taken apart and reassembled. In 2002 the DeMott family moved here to the Newport area. Then in 2006 the family moved to a small town up North in Washington state, this is where Johnathon completed Middle and Highschool courses. After Johnathon graduated he went straight to work to acquire his associates degree in Automotive Technologies at the College of Technology in Billings Montana. Whilst going to school for the above degree, Johnathon was working at a local privately owned shop where he began his growth of automotive skills and experience. Once he graduated from the College of Technology he moved back home to Newport Oregon where he now is continuing to grow his knowledge and skills in the automotive field. Johnathon recently became engaged and is very excited to start going after his ASE Masters and continue to grow as a part of PJM Auto and as an excellent automotive technician.

Michael Hogle developed his interest in the automotive industry, especially car repair as a child. His father and brother worked at a local body shop and Michael would often visit his father after school and watch him paint cars. At the age of 16 when his father passed, Michael went to work at the body shop and his brother taught him how to do bodywork and replace parts on cars that have been damaged. While he was employed there Michael got his GED, and then took college courses to obtain his I-CAR certifications for body, frame and Air conditioning. He continued on there for 10 years, before moving to the coast for a change of scenery. Michael was hired on at Les Schwab where he became certified on brakes, suspension, alignment and performance suspension. He made a career out of it and stayed on for 20+ years, before being brought on to open Power Tire Center at Power Chevrolet Buick GMC in Newport. Though this is where he met his beautiful now Fiancée, Michael quickly realized this was not the place he needed to be, and after just shy of 2 years he made the switch to join his forever home here at PJM. Where working with honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable people solidifies this is where he is meant to be.
